Please read the privacy policy as written by the BzzAgent legal team which is set out below. This privacy policy explains a few things surrounding "personal information" including what personal information we collect from you and what we do with this information.

The short version is this:

  • By signing up to be a BzzAgent, you are opting-in to receive information about new BzzCampaigns and feedback about your activities from us via e-mail. We won't send you unnecessary e-mail, don't worry.
  • BzzAgent will occasionally share the information you give us with other companies in order to provide you with a better experience and more program opportunities. Following our acquisition by the UK’s very own dunnhumby Limited we have become part of a bigger family and by sharing some of your information with dunnhumby we hope that we will be able to bring you even bigger and better opportunities. And please don’t worry; we will only share your personal information so long as there is a really good reason to do so.
  • If you choose to opt-in to a campaign, you are allowing us to share the results of your actions with our clients. (Just so you know, our clients are interested in the Bzz you create, not your "personal information." We only share personal information with clients to help campaigns run more smoothly, e.g. so clients can ship items to you.)
  • The information you provide us is backed up on our servers in the US so this means your information is transferred outside the UK.
  • You need to be at least 13 years old if you want to register to use this site.
  • It's important that you read and understand the long version!

BzzAgent UK Limited Privacy Policy

BzzAgent UK Limited ("BzzAgent") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, store and use the information that you provide to us through our www.bzzagent.co.uk website ("Website") or through your BzzAgent experience. This Privacy Policy does not apply to other Internet sites even if accessed via our Website. If you have any questions or concerns about our Privacy Policy, please contact us.

What is personal information?

Personal information means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identification number or to one or more factors specific to his physical, physiological, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.

In the context of information you give to us, this includes your name and contact details, and other personal information you may provide such as your age, gender, where you’re from and what you’re interested in.

What personal information do we collect and what do we do with it?

BzzAgent is the sole owner of the information collected on this Website (including as part of any surveys hosted on this Website) and from its licensed software. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from those disclosed in this statement.

BzzAgent collects personal information from the user at several different points on this Website.

In order to use the Website, a user must first complete the BzzAgent registration form. During registration a user is required to provide BzzAgent with their contact information (e.g. name, e-mail address, postal address, etc.), additional psychographic information and information needed for shipping programme-related items. This information is used to select users for campaigns and to notify users about new campaigns and specific campaign directives. This information is also used for shipping purposes, for items related to a user's experience on the Website, and for the coordination of campaigns or other programs from time to time. If we have trouble processing a shipment, this contact information may be utilized to contact a user.

BzzAgent may disclose your personal information to:

  • any member of our group of companies (this means our subsidiaries and our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries);
  • other companies who help us manage or provide our services (for example, order fulfillment, statistical analysis, list analysis and data processing partners);
  • our clients in order to help us with the administration of our services; and
  • any company who some time in the future purchases BzzAgent or substantially all of our assets, in which case any personal data held by us will be one of the transferred assets.

Please also be aware that we may need to disclose personally identifiable information when required by law.

In some cases, the third parties described above may already hold information about you (e.g., if you are on of their mailing lists, or belong to a loyalty scheme operated by one of them). In those circumstances, both we and that third party may combine the information we both hold about you, creating a more detailed picture of you. This allows us both to better understand what sort of products and services you might be interested in.

When joining BzzAgent, you are able to opt-in or opt-out to receive emails from BzzAgent. Personal information will never be retained by BzzAgent any longer than is reasonably necessary.

Please note that BzzAgents are able to make changes at any time to keep their personal information up to date. The fastest way to change personal information is to log on and simply click on "My Profile", then click on "Profile" and then click on "Edit" to update personal information.

You have the right to access and update any of your personal information which we may have on record. In the event that you do wish us to do so, please contact us by email at bzz@bzzagent.co.uk. Please note that an administration fee may be payable to cover reasonable costs in providing such information to you.

What if I access Facebook or Twitter through BzzAgent?

In addition to the above, as part of being able to provide you with a direct link to Facebook and Twitter (and any other social networking applications we may add from time to time) (“SNAs”), we will also be collecting some of your personal information when you connect to these SNAs via BzzAgent.

This information will include: your name; your user ID used with the relevant SNA; your e-mail address; your gender; your birthday; your current city; your SNA profile picture; your SNA URL; any content you post to an SNA via the Website and the SNA user IDs of the user’s friends who have also connected through BzzAgent’s portal. By connecting to an SNA through BzzAgent’s Website you consent to BzzAgent using this information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We will not use any information which is not included in the list above without your explicit consent. BzzAgent will only use the above information in order to prepare anonymous reports for our clients about campaigns that we are running on their behalf. The information that we share with our clients will be for statistical purposes only and will not your personal details. Once we no longer have a need for the information, we will delete it from our records. Remember that by joining BzzAgent through the SNAs, BzzAgent will also be able to access your friends’ data if your friends have also agreed to connect through BzzAgent’s application.

Remember, if you are at all concerned about your privacy in the context of any SNAs, please refer to the privacy policies applicable to those sites.

Transfer of personal information

BzzAgent's offices are geographically located in both the United States of America and the United Kingdom and as our business grows we may open offices in other countries. In addition, many of our clients, partners and service providers are located in various countries around the world. This means that, certain personal information may, from time to time, be required to be processed in or transferred to the USA or other countries outside of the European Economic Area. By registering as a BzzAgent and submitting your personal data you consent to this transfer and processing.

Cookies

BzzAgent use cookies to allow us to personalize your experience on our Website. A cookie is a piece of data we store for each user session that gives you a unique ID number for that session. Usage of a cookie is not linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once you end your session, the cookie simply terminates. We use cookies on our site so that you can move from page to page while staying logged into your account. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site, and we will set each link to contain the user's unique id number for your current session.

Log files

BzzAgent track certain information such as type of browser and log on time for our own use. We use this information only to track where our users may be coming from and what type of software they are using. We record this information so we can continuously improve our users' online experience and improve our Website. None of this information will ever be traced back to any specific person and is useful only to BzzAgent. This information will never be retained any longer than is reasonably necessary.

Account

Once you become a member of BzzAgent you will receive a password and an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account. Furthermore, you are entirely responsible for any and all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify BzzAgent of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security known to the member.

Security

BzzAgent strive to protect your information by using Secure Socket Layers (SSL) software to encrypt your information when it is being transmitted to us. Access to data is limited through the use of internal firewalls and strictly enforced. When users submit information via our Website, such information is protected both online and off-line. While we use both passwords and user names to protect information online, we also try to protect users' information off-line. All of our users' personally identifiable information is restricted in our offices and only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to such personally identifiable information. Finally, the servers on which we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment and professionally maintained. Whether or not a user’s personally identifiable information is kept in the UK or transferred to the US or another country, the same level of protection with be applied to the servers. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and/or any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you are online.

Updates

BzzAgent may change this Privacy Policy from time to time, so it is advisable to review it frequently. Changes to this Privacy Policy will be announced on our Website and may be notified to BzzAgents by email.

Special Offers and e-mail

We send all new members a welcoming e-mail to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive e-mails containing information regarding new campaigns, programme shipments and directives from BzzAgent if they have opted-in. "Opted-in" means the user has approved certain e-mails to be sent to them from BzzAgent.

Site and Service Announcements

Under rare circumstances BzzAgent may need to contact specific or all users in order to make an important announcement about our Website or service changes. Members are not able to unsubscribe, or "opt-in/opt-out" of these announcements because they may contain very important information regarding their accounts. Before these measures are taken, however, BzzAgent will post information regarding changes directly on our Website. BzzAgent reserves the right to contact users to correct account errors or to supply important information BzzAgent deems relevant.

Age/Residency Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old, a United Kingdom resident and have a valid e-mail address to enrol in the BzzAgent United Kingdom Program ("Program").

Enrolment and participation in the Program open to individuals only (no corporations or other legal entities). Each individual who enrolls in the Program is responsible for providing the information requested in the enrolment process and for updating any such information to ensure its accuracy. Receipt of inaccurate or misleading information will adversely affect the ability of BzzAgent to operate the Program and provide services to clients required by members and participants. In this regard, BzzAgent reserves the right to terminate a member's membership of the Program if misleading or intentionally incorrect personal information is provided. BzzAgent reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Program with or without notice to members. BzzAgent will not be liable to any member or any third party should BzzAgent exercise its right to modify or discontinue the Program.

TRUSTe

BzzAgent Inc has been awarded TRUSTe's Privacy Seal signifying that this privacy policy and practices have been reviewed by TRUSTe for compliance with TRUSTe's program requirements including transparency, accountability and choice regarding the collection and use of your personally identifiable information. The TRUSTe program does not cover information that may be collected through downloadable software. TRUSTe's mission, as an independent third party, is to accelerate online trust among consumers and organizations globally through its leading privacy trustmark and innovative trust solutions.
